Installing K-Secure VPN™ Server

K-Secure VPN™ Server comes with an easy-to-use installer. You can simply launch the installer; keep clicking Next and finally Finish. The product is installed!

Minimum Requirements

  • Pentium or better PC;
  • Microsoft Windows® 2000 or later operating systems. This includes Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, Windows 7 and many other variations of Windows® operating systems;
  • At least 10 MB free disk space;
  • 640x480 or higher resolution monitors with at least 16-bit color depth;

Installation

  • Download the latest version from http://k-secure.com/download.php
  • Important: If an instance of K-Secure VPN™ Server is currently running, it will be terminated automatically by the installer. Normally this is not a problem. However, if a network application is currently working inside the VPN environment, it will not be able to continue its work.
  • Launch the setup program and follow the on-screen instructions as illustrated in the screenshots at the bottom of this page.

Silent Installation

Silent installation requires no user intervention and has no user interface. You will not see any dialog and will not be asked any questions. This is useful for IT administrators who want to install K-Secure VPN™ Server without user intervention so they can perform the operation quickly over any number of computers.

The installer for K-Secure VPN™ Server can be both silent and not silent. To install K-Secure VPN™ Server silently into the default folder, simply type the following command in the Start->Run box or in a Command Prompt:

SetupKsVpnServer.exe /S
Please note the "/S" is case sensitive and cannot be "/s".

Reboot After Install

If you have never installed K-Secure VPN™ Server on your computer before, there is no need to reboot after install; otherwise, the installer will determine whether a reboot is necessary.

Installation Steps

  1. The Welcome Page

    The first page you see after launching the installer is the Welcome page. There is nothing for you to do here - simply make sure this is what you want to install and click Next;

    During the installation, you can click Cancel any time if you decide not to install the program;



  2. License Agreement

    Please carefully review the license terms before clicking I Agree;

    Note: Starting from this page you will see the version number of the K-Secure VPN™ Server at the lower left of the page.



  3. Choose Install Location

    The default install location has been filled in. DO NOT change the Destination Folder MANUALLY - it's easy to make a mistake. If you want to install K-Secure VPN™ Server into a different folder, use the Browse... button to select one.




  4. Choose Start Menu Folder

    The default Start Menu Folder has been filled in. You can enter a different folder name into the edit box.



  5. The Finish Page

    K-Secure VPN™ Server has been installed successfully. Simply click Finish to end the Setup Wizard and start K-Secure VPN™ Server program (if you select Run K-Secure VPN Server).
